Anti-Aging Peptides
Longevity peptides targeting telomeres, mitochondria, and cellular regeneration.
What Are Anti-Aging Peptides?
Anti-aging peptides target the biological machinery behind cellular aging: telomere maintenance, mitochondrial function, and oxidative stress repair. They won't reverse your chronological age, but the goal is to slow down the molecular wear that accumulates with time. This page covers 16 peptides across multiple longevity pathways.
Epithalon (Epitalon) gets the most attention in this category. It activates telomerase, the enzyme responsible for maintaining telomere length at chromosome ends. Research by Vladimir Khavinson's group in St. Petersburg showed telomerase activation and increased telomere length in human cell cultures. A small clinical study in elderly patients reported improved immune markers and reduced mortality over a 6-year follow-up period. The standard protocol (the "Khavinson Protocol") runs 10 mg per day for 10 to 20 days, repeated once or twice per year.
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper tripeptide that declines with age. Your blood levels drop from about 200 ng/mL at age 20 to roughly 80 ng/mL by age 60. It stimulates collagen synthesis, accelerates wound healing, and has anti-inflammatory properties backed by multiple published studies. GHK-Cu can be injected subcutaneously for systemic effects or applied topically for skin-specific results.
SS-31 (Elamipretide) targets the inner mitochondrial membrane directly. It binds to cardiolipin, a phospholipid that keeps the electron transport chain running efficiently. Stealth BioTherapeutics ran Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials for mitochondrial myopathy. NAD+ takes a different angle, supporting mitochondrial energy production through a coenzyme that declines measurably as you age. Injectable NAD+ bypasses the oral conversion bottleneck of precursors like NMN and NR.
The longevity peptide space is still early-stage compared to GLP-1 drugs or healing peptides. Most compounds carry "emerging research" or "limited research" designations. Community interest is high, particularly among biohackers and longevity-focused practitioners. Bryan Johnson and Ben Greenfield have both published their Epithalon protocols publicly.

All Anti-Aging Peptides(16)
NAD+
NAD+ injectable protocols produce rapid cellular energy restoration and sirtuin activation. A 2019 IV infusion study confirmed 398% plasma elevation above baseline. Subcutaneous maintenance dosing at 100 to 250 mg twice weekly is the community standard for longevity use, though RCT evidence for wellness claims is still catching up.
Argireline
Argireline is a topical hexapeptide that inhibits SNARE complex assembly to soften expression wrinkles. Clinical results range from 48.9% efficacy to no significant effect across controlled trials. At $10 per bottle, it's worth testing on your own skin before drawing conclusions.
Glutathione
Glutathione is a tripeptide antioxidant produced in every cell, but oral bioavailability sits around 10%. Injectable routes deliver 100% to circulation. One RCT showed skin brightening in 37.5% of subjects after 12 IV sessions. Community protocols center on 200 to 400 mg subcutaneous, two to three times weekly. No FDA-approved injectable product exists.
GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu modulates over 4,000 genes tied to collagen, wound repair, and aging. Community reports consistently describe firmer skin by week four and faster healing. No human injectable RCTs exist yet, but topical trials and decades of in vitro data back its core mechanisms. Available as subcutaneous injection or topical serum.
Epithalon
Epithalon is a tetrapeptide telomerase activator with 140+ PubMed entries and consistent community reports of rapid sleep improvement. The 2025 independent replication of telomere elongation in human cell lines brought new credibility to the mechanism. Human clinical trials remain absent. Two cycles per year cost under $100.
IGF-1 LR3
IGF-1 LR3 delivers 20 to 30 hours of active IGF-1 receptor stimulation per injection, far outlasting native IGF-1. Users report lean mass gains and faster recovery in 4 to 6 week cycles. No human RCT exists for anabolic use; hypoglycemia and organ growth concerns keep dosing conservative at 20 to 50 mcg per day.
Matrixyl
Matrixyl (Pal-KTTKS) is a collagen-signaling peptide backed by a 93-person split-face RCT showing wrinkle reduction at 3 ppm. Moderate clinical evidence, broad community adoption, and one of the best tolerability profiles in topical peptides. Results peak at 12 to 16 weeks.
Matrixyl 3000
Matrixyl 3000 pairs two matrikine peptides for dual-action anti-aging: collagen synthesis plus anti-inflammatory protection. Sederma's clinical trial showed 45% wrinkle reduction at 2 months. Topical, well-tolerated, compatible with retinoids and vitamin C. Community-favorite upgrade over original Matrixyl. Works in both AM and PM routines.
Humanin
Humanin is a mitochondrial-derived peptide with strong preclinical neuroprotective and anti-aging signals. Mouse studies show healthspan improvements and metabolic benefits. No human trials exist yet, and a documented cancer risk from its anti-apoptotic mechanism makes careful screening non-negotiable before starting.
AHK-Cu
AHK-Cu is a copper tripeptide with one published study showing hair follicle stimulation in vitro. Community use is mostly topical at 0.5 to 1% concentration. Injectable protocols exist but lack any direct scientific backing beyond structural similarity to GHK-Cu, which carries a far broader published evidence base.
SS-31 (Elamipretide)
SS-31 (elamipretide) earned FDA accelerated approval for Barth syndrome in September 2025, targeting mitochondrial cardiolipin to restore energy production. Community users run 2 to 10 mg daily for fatigue and longevity. Injection site reactions affect nearly everyone at some point.
Endoluten
Endoluten is a Khavinson pineal gland bioregulator containing the AEDG and EDR peptide sequences. One observational study of 266 elderly subjects showed a 4.1-fold mortality reduction over 6 to 8 years. Community users report improved sleep onset within days 4 to 7. All evidence comes from a single Russian research group.
PTD-DBM
PTD-DBM targets the CXXC5-Dvl interaction to reactivate Wnt signaling for hair regrowth. Mouse data from 2017 showed new follicle formation, but no human clinical trial exists. Community results remain inconsistent; the peptide's own developer pivoted away to a small molecule alternative.
FOXO4-DRI
FOXO4-DRI is a D-retro-inverso senolytic peptide that selectively kills senescent cells by freeing p53 from nuclear sequestration. Mouse data from Baar et al. (Cell, 2017) showed fitness restoration and kidney function recovery. Zero human trials exist. Community protocols use pulsed 3-dose courses with months of rest between.
Syn-Ake
Syn-Ake is a synthetic tripeptide that blocks postsynaptic acetylcholine receptors to relax facial muscles topically. Manufacturer data shows 52% wrinkle reduction at 28 days, though no independent RCT of the isolated compound exists yet. Often stacked with SNAP-8 for dual-mechanism coverage.
SNAP-8
SNAP-8 competes with native SNAP-25 at the SNARE complex to reduce muscle-driven wrinkle depth. Manufacturer data reports 35% average reduction over 28 days. Independent replication is missing, but community users confirm subtle softening of expression lines with 8 to 12 weeks of consistent topical use.
